Hey Jeffrey,

Are you wanting to keep the heat pump or are you ok with losing it? We currently only offer options from Dometic with this feature so we'd need to check what your current system is to see if you can replace just the rooftop unit or if you'll have to replace everything.

If you don't care about losing the heat pump function then you can replace just the rooftop unit with the Furrion # FR42PV. If you're wanting to replace the entire system then you can go with the # FR92PR you were looking at if you want the controls on the air distribution box or the # FR55PV if you want a wall-mounted thermostat.

I wanted the Penguin A/C with Heat Pump. The Trailer has 2 thermostats one for the front room that runs the Furnace and A/C. The Bedroom Thermostat only runs the Bedroom A/C and Heater. The System is Ducted too, so I would need a unit to replace the existing one. I think if I just get a complete unit. We do like the Heat Pump feature, as we do travel in cold weather sometimes. Your recommendations are appreciated. Thanks, Jeff

@JeffreyT We've only recently picked up Dometic's air conditioners so I don't currently have all the components you need for a complete replacement of the system but I've sent in requests to get the air distribution box that you'll need as well as a few other components. It's just going to take a few days to get everything in order and on the site. If you're good with that just let me know and we can keep going with that route.

@KevinC Will the Furrion be a direct replacement for my existing A/C's? And I notice, the Furrions come with Start Capacitor? Is that like a Soft Start module? I will go with a Furrion if I can get a heat pump with it? Look forward to your reply. Thanks, Jeff

@Jeff Furrion offers an adapter wire harness to plug into other branded systems that have a 9-pin connector. Typically if you have a heat pump you're going to have a 9-pin connector, unless the specific unit has some proprietary wiring harness. Furrion units do come with a start capacitor already built into them, which is the same thing as the soft start module. They unfortunately do not offer a heat pump option though. They have heat strips you can add in but from what I've researched a heat strip really isn't going to offer much. If you went with a heat strip model you would still need to replace the entire system because the heat strip would need to connect to a Furrion Zone Controller (brains of the system). What would you prefer to do?
