Question:

Have a 2014 bmw 328d wagon diesel . Approx4000lb tow capacity. Is there a hitch avail to tow a 16foot airstream 2800 dry , 3500lb loaded trailer? Or am I crazy? Thx

The trailer hitch we have that is a confirmed fit for your 328D is the Curt Trailer Hitch, part # C11367. This is a Class l hitch and it has a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening, and is intended for vehicles with a single muffler. Since the weight capacity of the hitch is 2,000 lbs I would not recommend towing your Airstream trailer with this.

You will want to check your owner's manual or with your dealership to see what the weight capacity for towing is for your 2014 BMW 328D.

If you decide to do some light towing I recommend a ball mount like part # C45521. For a 2 inch hitch ball I recommend part # 19256 and for a 1-7/8 inch hitch ball I recommend part # 19258.
