Question:
I have just installed the Curt 55379 wiring harness on my 97 Tacoma. All lights on the truck work, but only the running lights on the trailer work. This was the same on another trailer- both trailers fully functional when hooked up to another truck. I saw another note where a guy vigorously sanded the ground, so I tried that, but indicators and brakes still dont work. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi Andrew; the first thing I would do is double check the # C55379 connections behind your tail lights. Go ahead and unplug the connectors and then plug them back in to make sure they're fully seated. After that, I would test for power using a circuit tester # PTW2993.
Start by testing the wires running into the converter box. Since your vehicle lights work I'm assuming you have power here but it is a good idea to double check. After that check the wires running out of the converter box for power. If I had to guess you don't have power coming out and then the converter is bad and should be replaced under warranty.

Hey Andrew, what ended up happening after you tested the wires on your Curt wiring harness? Did you find power coming out of the converter box or end up needing a replacement? Your update could make it easier for others troubleshooting the same issue.
