Distance from the Front Edge of Crosstube to the Hitch pin On the Curt Hitch part # C31033

Question:

Can you tell me the measurement from the center of pin hole to outside edge of hitch? How far past the pinhole to the back of the hitch tube? Is the back back of the tube open in case accessory has longer shaft than the tube? Also, do you think it would be possible to put a anti-rattle hitch accessory on this with an install on a 2012 Dodge Durango Citadel? From the picture in the review appears that the front of the hitch sits almost flush with the bumper. Im assuming you have to reach underneath to get the pin in? Also, I realize that I will have to turn off the distance cruise control when using bike rack becasue the sensor is right above the receiver, but does the install affect this sensor at all? Sorry for all the questions and thanks for the help.

I spoke to my contact at Curt and he informed me that from the front edge of the crosstube on the Curt Front Hitch part # C31033 to the hitch pin hole is 5-1/4 inches. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of hitch opening is 8-3/4 inches. The back of the hitch is closed.

You definitely could use an anti-rattle device with this hitch. I attached a review video on anti-rattle devices to help you pick out a device that will meet your needs. You will need to reach under the of the vehicle to pin the hitch.

The hitch will not negatively affect your cruise control sensor on your 2012 Dodge Durango either.
