Hello Raymond, thanks for reaching out. When we measure the protrusion of the hitch, we measure from the center of the hitch pin hole to the farthest edge of the bumper. For the 2021 Acura RDX, the class 2 hitch # 36114 will protrude the farthest. For this hitch the center of the pin hole is 2" past the rearmost edge of the bumper. For the class 3 Hitch # C95CR this distance is only 1/2".

Both of the hitches you mentioned will have the exact same ground clearance, with 12-1/2" from the bottom edge of the receiver to the ground. I recommend going with the Curt Class 3 Hitch # C95CR just because the 2" receiver is more common, and you will have no trouble finding compatible accessories. I have linked our install video for you below.

Hey Raymond, how did things turn out with the Curt Class 3 hitch on your RDX? Did the ground clearance and receiver length work out the way you wanted? Your update could make it easier for others comparing those two hitches.

Actually ordered one for my 2012 TSX and it worked great. The RDX will probably be next. Thanks for follow up. Curt hitches are real deal.
