Question:
We are planning to upgrade our CRVs Draw-Tite 113169? Hitch to a Draw-Tite 75742. We have a Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack and 2 Lectric XP 3.0 eBikes. The bikes weight about 65lbs, and not sure of the rack weight, but it seems were right around the CRVs 150lbs TW. The current rack with the 1.25inch receiver seems really inadequate and difficult to get the rack to not move around on every bump, so Id guess that theres alot of load being put on the hitch. The new hitch will let us put the 2inch adapter back on to the bike rack and tighten that up a little and should be much more rugged. The question: Is there anything available that can clamp/hook onto the hitch tubes or elsewhere to help secure the rack and keep them from bouncing and moving around as much? We Tow this CRV behind a motorhome and during that, the eBikes are inside, not on a rack, but when we go out to a biking location, its nerve wracking seeing how much the rack wants to dance around back there. Was thinking about some brackets that would clamp on the tube to each side of the receiver and allow strapping the rack down so that it wouldnt wobble side to side as much on the bumps. Attached pics of the current hitch. It was installed not too long ago by the previous owner, probably for a conventional bike rack since there is no trailer wiring installed.

Hi Jeff,
You likely have the Draw-Tite # 36520 currently on your 2013 Honda CR-V. The Draw-Tite # 75742 would be a compatible fit and give you a 2" receiver tube. The hand knob on the shank of the EasyFold Xt rack # TH903202 should help take away the rattling you've bee seeing and provide more stability for the rack, but you can still use some straps like part # 18050 to provide extra support for the trailer hitch to prevent the bike rack from being jostled around.

Hey Jeff, how did things go after switching to the Draw-Tite 75742 and using the stabilizing strap with your Thule EasyFold XT rack? Did the setup cut down on the wobble and make the ride feel more secure? Your update could make it easier for others hauling e-bikes on similar racks.
