Updated 02/17/2026 | Published 06/11/2024

Question:

WILL THIS KIT FIT A 2013 E150, WITH NO A/C IN THE REAR. ALSO, IS THIS DESIGNED TO RUN WHILE DRIVING? THANK YOU, TOM.

Hi Tom,

The Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner # ADV79FR requires 110v service, which would require you to run a generator in order to power it. This would likely require you to reinforce the roof to accommodate the weight and you'd have to build the ceiling up to 2-1/2" - 5" thick for the air distribution box # ACDB. This really wouldn't be a viable option, but there are air conditioners designed for vehicle use you could look into.

The only thing we could really offer would a vent with a fan like the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-06200K that could be ran while you drove to help cool your vehicle. This vent as well as the # ADV79FR both require a 14" x 14" roof opening. I've attached a video below where Shane will walk you through the installation on a similar van.

Hey Tom, how did things go with the MaxxFan Deluxe vent for your E150? Your update could make it easier for others trying to cool their vans while driving.
