Hi I have purshased AL82AB light, and A91GB grommet but now am confused as to how to mount them..? Its not clear how the grommet mounts and how the light is retained in the grommet or on the trailer. what am I missing? all the best,

All the parts you ordered are designed to work together, but the grommet part # A91GB is for flush mounting the Optronics Light part # AL82AB that you have. This grommet will get installed into a hole in on your trailer that is about 2-7/8 inches across and 1-1/2 inches tall.
If you do not have a hole with those dimension you might be better served getting a Black Mounting Bracket # A91BOB to allow you to surface mount the # AL82AB.
