RetraxPro XR Ladder Rack and Yakima SkyRise Tent for 2024 GMC Sierra 2500 Short Bed

Question:

Looking at the RetracPro XR for my 2024 GMC 2500 610 ish bed. Would also like yakima Upright YA24FR and Yo7437 Skyrise. How does this all work since the tent is good for 600 pounds but the Upright is only good for 300# and who knows what the RetracPro T-slots are good for. Thoughs?

Everything you mentioned will work...the Retrax Pro XR part # RTX84QR that fits your 2024 GMC Sierra 2500 short bed can be used with the Yakima OverHaul HD Ladder Rack part # Y01151-5955 which is then also compatible with the Yakima SkyRise HD # Y07437.

So your question about weight capacity is a good but but the reason the 300 lb capacity of the ladder rack works with the 600 lb capacity of the tent is the difference between static and dynamic weight. The ladder rack is rated for 300 lbs dyanamic (on the road where it will bounce a lot) and the tent's capacity is for when parked (static)...because you probably wouldn't want to have people in the tent while travelling down the road.
