Question:
What is the correct way to hitch the trailer? 1. Hang tag states to hitch trailer with jaws open. 2. Instruction manual states, always hitch trailer with jaws closed and handle latch open. Which is the correct way to hitch? Thanks

I spoke with my contact at Pro Series and he confirmed that the instruction manual contains the proper procedures to follow when hitching the trailer using the Pro Series Dual Jaw 16k hitch. The handle latch should be in the open position with the jaws closed (see photo). When hitching, the king pin of the trailer will push the jaws open and will spring shut once king pin is fully seated into the head. The only time the jaws should be completely open is when you are unhitching the trailer.
