There are several differences between the Brake Buddy Classic 3 # HM39494 and the Select 3 # HM39524. The main difference is that the Select is a true proportional system while the Classic is not. The Classic does have an inertia sensor but it will only apply the brakes according to the preset brake power settings, not proportionally to the braking action of your RV.
The Select also lets you choose between proportional and full-braking action. This means you can have the brakes at max power regardless of your RV brake intensity which is great for towing down steep inclines. The remote that comes with the Select will allow you to choose the sensitivity and brake modes while allowing you to monitor changes from the RV cab. The Classic does not have a remote.
I recommend getting the Select 3 because of the proportional braking and full-braking setting. It is well worth the additional cost to have these features along with the convenience of the remote.
