Should I Get The Stealth Hitch Or etrailer.com Hitch For My New 2023 Hyundai Palisade?

Published 07/13/2023

Question:

Hi, Just got a 2023 Hyundai Palisade and want to get a hitch on it. I see your etrailer e95ZR and the Stealth SH26GR. The Stealth one is a lot more expensive. Any reason to go with that over yours?

Though the etrailer.com Class III hitch # e95ZR would be my choice due to the lower cost, the Stealth Hitches # SH26GR is still very nice. Both of these options will install virtually the exact same way on your 2023 Hyundai Palisade, but the Stealth Hitches receiver piece is completely removable, making it 100% hidden when not in use. The etrailer.com hitch will always have the receiver attached and sticking out from under the bumper. This doesn't really bother me, but a lot of people are really liking the hidden style hitches lately.

A couple other pluses for the Stealth option: it will include a wiring harness (hardwire) and a ball-mount kit for towing. If you go with the etrailer hitch, you will also need a ball-mount ( # C45070), ball ( # 63845), pin + clip ( # TMX33VR), and wiring harness ( # C59496 (also hardwire)) to complete a towing set up.

All that being said, the etrailer hitch option will still be less expensive (by quite a bit) and the way I would still go.

Please keep in mind the ball-mount and ball are just examples and you will need to know the coupler height and size before ordering. The etrailer hitch sat at 13-3/4" (measured from the ground to the inside top of the receiver) when we installed one here and I used the fairly standard 18" coupler height (measured from the ground to the bottom of the coupler opening) to pick out a ball-mount.
