Can VueSMART be Powered by Boat Battery

Question:
Hi I was looking at mounting it to my pontoon boat at back to help with the ramp. My questions is can I just connect the camera to one of my boat batteries. I think it might work not sure I might need to add a switch in between the battery and camera to toggle it on or off. Or does the phone turn power off to camera. I think it would be cool to be able to see the back end of boat going down the ramp. Thanks Good video
