Replacement Bolt-Thru Swivel Trailer Jack for 7,000 lb Trailer
Updated 05/26/2023 | Published 05/25/2023 >
Question:
The trailer on our boat is stamped with a 7000lb rating. I need to replace the bolt on jack. What weight rating of jack do I need for that kind of tongue weight. Thanks.

Expert Reply:
For a 7,000 lb trailer you need a jack that can handle at least 1,050 lbs (going by the 10% - 15% tongue weight rule).
From what I can tell in your photo I believe the 1,500 lb Fulton Bolt-Thru Swivel Marine Jack # FXP15 will match up to your mounting bracket, and this jack offers a 10" lift if that works out for your trailering application. You just need to ditch the included mounting hardware and fit it to the welded-on bracket currently on your trailer.
Attached are some photos showing the dimensions of the indentation and bolt hole opening for you to compare to your current jack.
