Expert Reply:
I spoke with my contact at K-Source about your 2011 GMC, and the K-Source Towing Mirror, part # KS62094G. They told me that this mirror is designed to be a replacement for the OEM mirror on your vehicle. You can take the head apart on the mirror but the size of the glass and attachments would prevent you from being able to use this glass on your OEM mirror. This mirror uses the factory connections for the power, heat and turn signal functions, and mounts to your vehicle using the same mounting points as the factory mirror.
