Brake controllers are not vehicle specific so the installation of one basically covers all of them. The one thing that is different is the wiring harness used. Some vehicles have factory plug in ports for a brake controller and can use a harness to plug in the controller. Different controllers use different harnesses.
But in this case both the Pod, # 39523, and the P3, # 90195, use harness # 3016 on the 2014 Chevy Silverado. So yes, it will be the same. The brake controllers do have different manuals though because they have different features and I have linked them for you.
The other difference is that the Pod is a time delay brake controller so it does not have any mounting restrictions like the P3 proportional controller. The Pod just has to be secured and within easy reach of the driver. Otherwise it just plugs into the vehicle.
