Question:

I have a duo therm 630035.331 that I want to replace that is currently set up on one thermostat for two AC units. I want to keep front unit and thermostat and add a second thermostat in rear when I replace the rear unit in order to keep the heating function with new unit having a heating strip in it . Which setup do I need?

Both units would have a controller with a wire harness running between them to communicate or both would run out to the thermostat. Since we don't carry Dometic's line of AC systems I can't say for sure, but you could call them to see if they have a compatible thermostat for your system and how the controllers communicate with the current thermostat to see if you can sever the connection and run the rear unit to the new thermostat.

If you can then you could just swap out the rooftop unit in the rear with the # ACDOM150 and add on a heat strip # ACMHD during the installation process. You'll need the manual on the thermostat so that you can set the dip switches on it to work with a heat strip.

If they say that it can't be done then you could just sever the connection between the two controllers and replace the entire system in the rear with the # ACM150CH.
