Question:
Hey Guys, I need to know what parts are necessary to install a 5504 Activator IV Draw Tite Brake Controller. Ill be putting one on my 1999 Chevy Suburban. Its a 5.7 4wd with a 4 way flat light hookup already installed. Is there a kit? BTW, do you know how this unit modulates the brake pressure? Thanks,

Everything you would need to install the Draw Tite Activator IV Brake Controller # 5504 that you referenced would be in the Brake Controller Installation kit # ETBC7. This will give you a fully functional 7-way at the rear of your vehicle as well. I attached a set of installation instructions as well as an install video for this product for you to check out.
With Time Delayed trailer brake controllers like the # 5504, once the brake pedal is stepped on, the pre-determined amount of power (which is set by the user, based on trailer weight) is sent back to the trailer brakes. On time delayed controllers, a delay always exists from when the brake pedal is pushed to when the unit reaches the user set, maximum power output. The delay can be shortened or lengthened with the sync switch, available on most time delayed controllers, but it behaves the same way for every stop (slow or fast)
