Suspension Enhancement For 1997 Nissan Pickup Lowered by 4 Inches
Question:
Hello, I have a lowered 97 nissan hardbody pickup. I need helper springs or air bags for the truck to help when loaded. I have 4 inch blocks in rear. Will the Timbren Jounce work? How much space is needed between frame and axle? Reading it sounds like there is a 1 inch gap when installed stock so the hollow springs must be fairly short. Can you give me any measurements? My truck being 4 inch lower, I assume the hollow spring will be compressed about 3 inches on my truck. Any help would be appreciated.

The Timbrens definitely won't work on your 1997 Nissan pickup that has been lowered 4 inches, that's nearly the length of the spring and they can't compress that much. The only option for your '97 Nissan to help when loaded is the RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit # RAS2511.
This will help your Nissan stay level level out and give you improved handling. Normally when you are towing or have a heavy load in your truck bed, your factory leaf springs flatten, causing the back end to sag, but the RAS kit will actively counteract that.
