Can the Ramp Spring # RS16933LH Be Heated Up and Bent?

Question:
Can the spring be heated up and bent? The springs will not fit on my trailer without preloading the spring. If preloaded the ramps can not be adjusted in and out for width.

By heating up the Ramp Spring # RS16933LH you do risk damaging the tension in the spring steel.
