Which Mounting Holes Are Used When Mounting a Reese Goose Box In Place of a Lippert 1116 Pin Box?
Published 01/26/2023 >
Question:
In the instructions for item # RP85FR, they show mounting options for a Lippert 1621 and 1716 pin box. I have a Lippert 1116 pin box. I know with the 1116, I will need the additional spacer kit, Im just not sure what section in the instructions I would follow. I believe the 1116 pin box is very similar to either the 1621 or the 1716, Im not sure which one though. Thank you.

When installing the Reese Goose Box # RP85FR with the Spacer Kit # RP97FR for a Lippert 1116 pin box you will use the mounting holes for the 1716 pin box. Do be sure to follow the instructions for the Spacer kit first which are linked below along with the instructions for the Goose Box.
Don't forget you will also need the Reese Safety Chain Kit # RP49151 as you are switching to a ball connection. All ball trailer connections require safety chains.
