I have a VW Arteon receiving a trailer hitch shortly with the intent to be used for bicycle racks. The trailer hitch is a Class 1 1 and 1/4. The bike rack below says it uses a 1 and 1/4 hitch but in the fit instructions it says 1 and 3/8. The question is will the below bike rack fit the Arteon trailer hitch?

The Yakima bike racks that fit the 1-1/4 inch hitch size require Class II or higher hitches whereas the hitches for your 2021 Volkswagen Arteon like the Draw Tite # DR97FR are all Class I. Thankfully Thule makes similar bike racks that are Class I compatible like with the Thule Apex part # TH9025XT which is very similar. You'd be limited to carrying only two bikes with this rack though since it's a Class I hitch. This is due to the increased weight and leverage the additional bikes put on the hitch.
