Question:

Hollywood Racks RV Rider. Why is it said that a 1.25 to 2 adapter should not be used? My 1.25 class 1 hitch is chassis mounted and I have a 2 adapter already installed.

Whenever you use a hitch adapter like the Hitch Adapter 1-1/4" to 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver # 80303 you affectively cut your trailer hitches capacity by half.

So, with your class I hitch already has a fairly low capacity, using a hitch adapter will reduce your capacity to almost nothing.

Instead, I recommend using a bike rack that is compatible with a class I hitch, like the:

-Thule Hitching Post Pro - Folding Tilting 4 Bike Rack w Anti-Sway # TH934XTR.

This bike rack isn't going to have as much capacity as the Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # HLY64FR that you're looking at, however you can still transport up to 2 bikes weighing up to 35-lbs each.
