Does the Bestop soft top B5146415 include a windshield channel for attaching the top?

Yes, the windshield retainer, or channel # B51209, is included with the Bestop Supertop, # B5146415. All the appropriate hardware for installation on your 1978 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 is included with this kit.

I attached a set of installation instructions for you to review which shows all of the hardware for this installation on page 2.

Before purchasing there is one critical measurement you should take. Measure from the top inside edge of the windshield to the top outer edge of the vehicle body near the tailgate. Measure from approximately six inches inside the vehicle doors, see attached photo. Check to make sure that both sides measure 81 inches and are the same. If your vehicle measures correctly, this is the top for you.
