I saw a detailed forum online for the wiring a RAV4 for a brake controller. This guy had a 50 amp fuse coming of the battery, and then that went to a circuit breaker panel the had two seperate 20 amp fuses with one that went to the 7-pin connector and one that went to the brake controller. On your website page about Brake Controller installation: Starting from Scrath it shows a 40 amp fuse going to the 7-pin and 20 amp to the brake controller. I was hoping you could clarify the two different setups.

When installing a brake controller on a vehicle that is not factory wired, we typically use a 40 amp inline circuit breaker (part # 9510) to protect the 12 Volt accessory circuit that runs from the battery to the trailer connector. The power supply circuit for the brake controller itself is protected by either a 20 or a 30 amp inline circuit breaker (part # 9506P, # 38630). The installation instructions for your brake controller will state which breaker is needed.
I suppose the other setup would work, but it seems excessive.
