Recommendation and Rationale for a 5th-Wheel Tailgate for a 2017 Ford F-250

Question:

I have a 2017 Ford F250, and Im looking into getting a 5th wheel tailgate. Are they worth having? Will this Stromberg Carlson tailgate fit my truck? I am really not after an mpg gains but thought it would be a way to make sure I dont dent my factory one up

I definitely recommend getting a 5th-wheel tailgate on your 2017 Ford F-250. The reason is because a tailgate light the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series # VG-15-100 is the only assured way to protect your factory tailgate when transporting your 5th-wheel trailer. Since you are using a different tailgate, any impact to the tailgate protects your factory gate by default. The # VG-15-100 is confirmed to fit your truck.

I went ahead and attached an installation video of the tailgate being installed on a 2016 Ford F-150. The process on your 2017 F-250 will be very similar.
