Sizing Blue Ox weight distribution hitch. current trailer hitch weight is 544# but going to add a tongue storage shelf with about 200# of weight that will not always be there. If I size the hitch for 750# will it still work for 544#? Hope this makes sense. Thanks!

The Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control # BXW0750 having such a narrow and specific tongue weight range of 550-750lbs does make it difficult to use on most trailers. I recommend looking at the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control # RP66083 with its range of 400-800lbs. This will ensure that you stay within the weight specifications given by the manufacturer and give yourself a cushion on the high side when fully loaded.
