Recommended AC Unit to Replace a Older Dometic 13,500 BTU Unit
Hey Cory! Advent has recently come out and stated that their AC units are not as compatible as they thought they were. Additionally, they have added that any the warranty of their components, like the item # ASA86YR, will be voided if connected to a non-Advent system. We're still working to update this information on our website. Hi Ken; I don't have a reading from that exact distance but I can tell you the noise level of the Dometic Penguin II Low Profile RV Air Conditioner # DMC86ZR is around 62dB. If noise is your main concern, the Dometic FreshJet 3 RV Air Conditioner # DMC39ZR is advertised as their quiet model sitting at 58 dB. Both of these can be used with a soft start. We've received conflicting information about the wiring for the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner - 13,500 Btu # ACM135 (and other Advent ACs) matching up with the to the Dometic Duo Therm units so I recommend using the Dometic Penguin II # DMC86ZR instead because we know it will be compatible.
