Question:
Good Day, I’m looking to install a hitch and wiring on my wife’s 2013 Audi Q5. I don’t believe it has factory hitch wiring. Do your kits need any special programming or anything from the dealer to work correctly? Thanks

Expert Reply:
Installing the Tekonsha XCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness # 1192500KIT on your wife's 2013 Audi Q5 will not require any additional programming from the dealer. The kit simply ties into the tail light wiring for a signal input. It then takes power from the vehicle battery to send to the trailer light through the 4-way flat connector. This prevents any added strain on the wiring in your Q5.
If you are planning to use the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13136 then you can use the Mounting Brackets # 18140 and # 18144 to secure the 4-way to the cross tube on the receiver.
