Is Skid Plate Removal Required To Install Draw-Tite Front Trailer Hitch Receiver 2017 4Runner SR5?

Noticed that on the 2016 4runner the skid pan must be removed. Is that requirement the same for the SR5 2017 model? Thanks in advance, Please advise

If your 2017 Toyota 4Runner SR5 has one of the TRD front skid plates it will need to be removed to install the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 65074.
I recommend using the WeatherTech BumpStepXL Hitch-Mounted Bumper Protector and Step # WT81BS1XL to keep in the receiver when you are not using it. This will help to protect your front bumper and give you a nice step for working under the hood of your 4Runner. It will also eliminate the whistle that is often caused by the wind moving through the receiver tube.
