Buying a 43 2021 Forest River Salem Hemisphere 5th wheel. Have the factory towing prep in my 2018 Ram 3500 and a goose ball already. Considering 5th wheel to goose neck adapter rather than buying the 5th wheel hitch. Advertised wights are 1790 on the hitch and 11250 dry what do you recommend?

I recommend the Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler Adapter # RP85FR for your 2021 Forest River Salem Hemisphere 5th wheel camper with 1621 pin box. This is currently the only 5th wheel to gooseneck adapter that will not void the chassis and other warranties on your camper. It is rated for campers up to 16,000lbs with a tongue weight capacity of up to 3,200lbs.
The Reese Safety Chain Kit # RP49151 is required since you are switching to a ball type connection.
If you are in need of the gooseneck ball I recommend the B&W Ball and Safety Chain Kit # BWGNXA2062 as it has the folding handle that allows you to install and remove the gooseneck hitch without getting Grease # 58117 on your hands or gloves. The hard storage case will prevent grease from getting into your truck if you store it under your rear seats.
