Can Rhino-Rack J-Style Kayak Carrier Hand Over the Crossbars

Question:

Hi, Just install this carrier and had to install it the opposite way because I was unable to tight down the clamp. The nut that secure the clamp to the rail, hits the roof. Is their a way to get more clearance to install the kayak carrier the right way? See pictures. Thanks

Thank you for the photos! It looks like if you flip the Rhino-Rack J-Style Kayak Carrier # S512 so the J-Cradles are hanging out over the Prinsu rack you should be able to move the clamping mechanism further out to the side for better clearance. It's perfectly normal and safe for the cradles to be overhanging the bar they are installed on so you don't have to worry about keeping the kayak directly above the crossbars.
