Question:
I would like to install the Prodigy P3 brake controller on my 2009 Santa Fe. The vehicle has a pre-installed towing package so I purchased the 4 to 7-way installation kit # ETBC7. I would appreciate your advice on two items: 1 Where do you install the rear connector bracket since there is no metal frame close to the hitch? 2 What opening in the firewall do you run the wire from the battery to the brake controller? The vehicle wires are bundled together with two very tight seals under the hood and in the cabin.

As far as mounting the 7-Way bracket that comes with # ETBC7 I recommend adding the no-drill long bracket, # 18136. Attach it to the hitch and the ETBC7 bracket to it.
As far as going through the firewall on the vehicle if you are able to route it through one of those spots you mentioned, that would be ideal. You may need to tape the wires to the end of a straightened coat hanger and then push the opposite end through the spot and into the cab. Then you would need to go into the cab and pull it and the wires through.
If it ends up being too tight you will have to drill a small hole and insert a snap bushing # SWC8055, run the wires through, then seal it up with some silicone. If you have to drill be careful you do not drill into anything on the other side of the firewall.
