There are no adapters needed to use a Blue Ox tow bar with your Curt Custom Base Plate Kit # C53FR. They both use the same style of tabs for connection points so they'll both link up seamlessly.

To flat tow your 2010 Chevy Equinox you'll also need a tow bar wiring kit, braking system, and safety cables. If you haven't purchased these already then I have the following recommendations for you:

Braking System: The Brake Buddy Stealth # HM39530 you were looking at is a great choice and is a one time installation that never has to be removed, replaced, or reset. The actuator installs out of sight and remains virtually invisible when your car isn't being towed and the controller also works as a trailer brake controller so that you can tow a trailer with your motorhome without having to install a separate brake controller. It also comes with a charge line kit that will keep your Equinox's battery charged while you tow.

Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Since the # HM39530 comes with a 6-way connector and adapter cable all you'll need is the diodes and wiring. For this I recommend the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-152. This diode kit allows you to use your vehicle's tail lights and wiring system while preventing feedback from your RV.

Note: Fuse(s) must be pulled during towing. If you have a 4 cylinder model, leave fuse #32 intact and pull the ABS fuse instead. Note: some models may label ABS fuse as #15 or #16.

4-cylinder models will require fuse bypass # RM-76517, while V6 models will need to use part number # RM76511.

Safety Cables: RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables # RM-643. The coiled design of these safety cables will help prevent them from dragging on the ground and being damaged.
