Crossbar spread is normally measured from center to center of the crossbars themselves. The SportRack Vista XL Cargo Box # SR7018 can fit a crossbar spread of 23-5/8", 25-7/8", 27-7/8", or 29-7/8" so you'll definitely be able to get it to fit on your 2020 Toyota Highlander.
