Question:
I recently bought a Softride Dura Assist for the above vehicle. I believe that I have to return to another retailer because I loaded it with 4 bikes and it made an unsettling noise in the wheels when driving to destination. We had 4 people in the car at the time. The only hitch available for this vehicle is a 1 1/4 Class 1 hitch receiver, which I had installed. Was wanting to carry 4 bikes but that looks like it is not recommended. Is that correct? If so, what 2 or 3 bike rack is recommended that is easy to take on and off? The current bike rack does not come off easily. Need a ratchet, weighs 42 lbs, etc. Looking for some recommendations. Very disappointed that I can not carry 4 bikes.

The Softride Dura Assist bike rack you mentioned is intended to be used with 1-1/4 inch Class ll and above hitches. There are a few options for bike racks to consider. I have attached some help articles which will assist you in choosing a bike rack which is best suited for you.
I recommend the Thule Doubletrack Pro XT bike carrier, part # TH92BJ. This rack would work with your installed hitch as well, provided the clearance is sufficient. This rack has a folding feature, which allows full access to the hatch, and weighs approximately 32 lbs.
A third option would be the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top 2 bike carrier, part # HRF2. It features a frame that can be used if your vehicle has a spoiler installed. The top attachment straps may be a bit difficult to reach, as they are attached at the top of the hatch. This rack weighs approximately 30 lbs. As it is true with any trunk mounted bike rack, you could have very limited access to the hatch when the rack is installed. With a trunk mounted rack you would not be able to use the rear windshield wiper if your vehicle is so equipped.
If you are using the Curt 1-1/4 Class l Hitch, part # C11510, please note that all non-trailer loads - bike racks, cargo carriers and so forth - should be supported with stabilizing straps, like part # 18050. Failure to properly support these loads will void your hitch warranty from Curt.
If your Infiniti is not equipped with a spoiler, I have linked you to a product page which may help deciding which trunk mounted bike rack is best for you.
