How Much Ground Clearance will a 2011 Volvo C70 with a Curt Hitch # C11065 Installed

Question:

Im looking at a hitch for my car, using it for a bike rack. What is the clearance from ground to bottom of the hitch receiver in inches? Concerned about hitch receiver scraping/hitting ground when driving into, or backing out of, steep driveways. Please advise.

Expert Reply:

We had the chance to install the Curt Hitch # C11065 on a 2012 C70 and we were able to determine that from top of the hitch opening to the ground it measured 9-1/2 inches. So if you subtract 2 inches for the distance from the top of the hitch opening to the bottom of the hitch you end up with 7-1/2 inches of total ground clearance.
