Parts Needed To Install A Brake Controller On A 2020 Jayco Alante Motorhome
Question:
I have a 2020 Jayco Alante that I will be towing an enclosed trailer with. I has tandem axles and electric brakes on both axles. My Alante didn't come with a brake controller and need to get one hooked up so I can tow the trailer. I already have a hitch on the RV and an adjustable ball mount from my truck I used to pull the trailer with so I'm good on that part. It doesn't look like there was a wire connector for the 7 way plug on the trailer to go into so I guess I need everything for the electrical stuff. I also had the Curt Assure brake controller in my truck, so I would like to be able to hook that up if possible.

You are definitely in luck! We have just what you need to get your Curt Assure # C49UR brake controller installed in your 2020 Jayco Alante. There is actually a port under your dash that will let you use the Custom Wiring Adapter # C51322 to plug directly into. This is a very quick and easy install and you will just need to figure out where you want to mount the controller.
Adding the 7 Way to get everything working will be a little more involved, but by no means difficult. Your Jayco has all the wires run to accomplish this feat, so it is just a matter of getting the wires connected to a 7 Way. The Hopkins # HM40975-11998 has all the butt connectors to do this as well as the bracket to get it mounted. This will have both a 7 Way port and 4 Flat port if ever needed. It is also the same design used on most trucks nowadays and is very rugged. Once this is hooked up, you are good to go.
