Is Noisy Everchill RV Fridge Okay

Question:

we have a new 2021 rv with a magic chef-everchill model#wd-282fwdc refrigerator. it is very noisy when running. our friends bought the exact same rv [at the same time and there refrigerator is much quieter. i took our rv back to the dealer and they told me it was normal and there was nothing they could or would do about it. i brought the rv home and removed the refrigerator myself and turned it on. the noise is clearly coming from the compressor. is there anything i can do to make it less noisy.

If your Everchill RV Fridge # 324-000119 is a bit noisy but it's functioning just fine then the "functioning just fine" part is probably why your dealer won't replace it. Compressors will make noise during operation but if it seems quite a bit louder than it should be I've found a few things that you can try prior to replacing the compressor (which I only recommend doing if it isn't operating correctly).

1 - Make sure the fridge is leveled out

2 - Try putting items in the fridge to see if that helps with the noise

3 - Clean the compressor and fans

If you think it needs to be replaced then we have confirmed with the manufacturer that this fridge uses a Wancool compressor that is 12v @ 60hz and has a rated current of 2.5 amps. You'll want to have a professional technician come out and do the replacement for you.
