The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DR64FR will be the best for towing your Coleman Lantern 18BH with your 2021 Jeep Gladiator. If you have a Rubicon trim this receiver will not fit your specific Gladiator. The Draw-Tite receiver is constructed so that you will be able to use a weight distribution hitch system to allow for you to prevent the rear of your Gladiator from sagging with the weight of the camper. The receiver is rated for a maximum tongue weight of 1,125lbs and maximum trailer weight of 7,500lbs. With a weight distribution hitch the capacity increases to 1,200lbs of tongue weight and 8,000lbs trailer capacity. Be sure to not exceed any specifications given by Jeep for your particular Gladiator.
You will need to have a 7-way connector on your Gladiator for pulling the Coleman travel trailer. A Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118786 and Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7 are needed to attach a 7-way to your Gladiator. These 2 kits will provide the wiring needed to control the lights on your Coleman Lantern as well as the charge line circuit and a Tekonsha Prodigy iD Trailer Brake Controller # TK49VR. This brake controller is proportional and can also be switched to time delay if you prefer to use that type of controller. The controller is operated by either the dash mount control knob but it will also allow you to control the brakes and make adjustments from your smartphone. There is also an alert to help you with any problems that might occur with your braking system that will be sent to your phone making it easier to know what it going on with your brakes.
I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37100ET for towing your Coleman. This weight distribution system is rated for trailers with a tongue weight of 600-1,000lbs. You Coleman has a dry tongue weight of 510lbs but will quickly rise with the additional 40lbs of propane, battery and additional gear that will be added to the front of your Coleman. The Equal-i-zer system will also provide you with built in sway control that will make hauling your trailer much safer on highways and in windy conditions.
You will need a 1-7/8" 12pt Thin Walled Socket # ALL643216 to install the included 2-5/16" hitch ball. The Sway Bracket Jackets # EQ95-01-5150 can also be utilized for quieting the amount of the noise from the weight distribution system when you are maneuvering.
