Question:
I have purchased part number 20036 to convert my 4 pin connector to a 5 pin. I am having difficulty locating the reverse light for the 5th wire to connect to. Do you have any specific instructions on how to locate this wire? The reverse light is located on the liftgate door so I assume I need to splice into the fuse box or the wiring harness, but not sure how to find the reverse light wire.

If you open the liftgate of your 2007 Acura MDX you should see a black section of conduit that holds wires that will run from the threshold of the door to the door itself. In that bundle of wires should be a reverse light circuit.
What you could do is remove the interior panel behind the threshold where the harness goes and test the wires to find which one is the reverse light circuit. You will need to use a circuit tester like our part # PTW2993.
Aside from that you could try tapping into the reverse light circuit at the fuse box, but I do not have specific instructions on how to do that. You might check your owner's manual to determine the location of the fuse.
For a fuse tap you could use a FIrestone Fuse Circuit Tap # F2526.
