How much back clearance does the car lose with this hitch? 2018 Mazda3 touring hatchback

When we installed the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24914 onto a 2018 Mazda 3 hatchback similar to your Mazda 3 we found that the receiver sat just shy of the rear of the bumper cover. So it will not hang past your bumper where you might hit your leg on it or extend the length of your Mazda. The bottom of the receiver tube and chain mounts are roughly 9-1/2" from the ground.
Be aware these measurements can vary due to trim levels, tire size and amount of suspension sag.
