Question:

I have a 2015 Chrysler Town and Country Van with a factory roof rack which is used for long distance trips camping, road trips, etc and a basket is a must for storage and cargo. I love this particular basket and I am wondering if it will fit my vehicle. Rola Roof Cargo Basket - Steel - 73-1/4inch Long x 40-1/2inch Wide x 5inch Deep - 180 lbs Item # 59504-EXT.

The Rola Roof Cargo Basket 59504-EXT will fit your 2015 Chrysler Town and Country as long as the crossbar dimensions on your factory rack don't exceed 3-1/4 inches wide x 1-1/4 inches tall. Also, your available crossbar space should be longer than 40-1/2 inches long. In order to make sure that the basket will fit your crossbars, I recommend you measure these dimensions. You will have enough space on your roof of the vehicle to accommodate the required 26-1/4 - 37-1/2 inch crossbar spread.

As far as something to secure cargo, the Curt Cargo Net # C18201 will work, but please do keep in mind that the size and shape of the loaded items can affect your best choice of net or tie-down straps. It really comes down to the specific size, shape and weight of the items you'll place in the basket.

You may prefer to use some tie-down straps like 4-piece set # ETBMB-05852 or # EM34420 if the items are large enough to catch a lot of wind. At highway speeds solidly securing the items is also helpful in reducing noise.
