Id really like to have longer straps for my Thule 990XT DoubleTrack rack. They only need to be a little longer. So are these replacement straps longer than the original ones?

We do not carry any longer straps for the Thule DoubleTrack that you have. All we'd have are the same length you have now. Your bike rack can carry bikes with up to a 3 inch tire width.
For a new bike rack the Thule T2 Pro X # TH83GC is a really nice option. On it's own it can support bikes that have tire widths of up to 3 inches, but with the fat tire adapter kit # TH97YC it can accommodate tires up to 5 inches. Its ratcheting hooks secure the bikes by the front wheels without any frame contact and the easy-to-use lever lets you quickly tilt the rack down (with the bikes still loaded) for rear cargo access.
