For your 2006 Mustang the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24747 will fit both the V6 and V8 engines within the models. This class 1 hitch is rated for 200lbs of tongue weight and 2000lbs of towing with the 1-1/4" receiver. Be sure to check with a Ford dealer for your limits as they may be different.
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11312 will only fit on the V6 models of your Mustang. It is also rated for 200lbs of tongue weight and 2,000lbs of towing.
A Curt Vehicle Wiring Harness # C58044 can be used to give you the 4-way flat trailer connector. This will be necessary if you are pulling a trailer but can also be used for Auxiliary Lights # C53201in case your bike rack or cargo carrier block the taillights on your Mustang.
