Where Should I Mount my Westin E-Series Round Nerf Bars on a 2018 Ford Explorer?

Question:

I would like to know if it is safer to mount the nerf bars to the running boards or the frame? This is my wifes vehicle and I want her to be able to enter and exit it safely! I would appreciate a truthful answer not due to a sale.If it all possible maybe you could tell me if it Could be attatched to the frame.Any help would be Greatly Appreciated.Thank You. Dick.
