Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT Sport

Updated 05/25/2021 | Published 05/21/2021

Question:

I have been searching high and low for a hitch for a 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT Sport. Dual exhaust 1.6 L. I came across a question and answer forum on your site that states the draw tite 24905 will fit this car model year and make. But I found other postings saying no hitch is available for the 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT Sport at this time. So I’m wondering if the second post was made at a later date and time and the hitch will indeed fit of if the post stating this number would fit was a mistake. Can you confirm that the Draw Tite 24905 will indeed fit a 2018 GT Sport with dual exhaust as the conflicting information is making it confusing on whether it will indeed fit or there is no hitch available for this vehicle. I submitted screenshots of both posts below. Just trying to figure out which one is the correct information for this hitch and for this car. Thanks in advance

The Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24905 is confirmed to fit all the 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT trim levels, unless the car was manufactured in Korea. You can verify this by inspecting the build sticker in the door jamb or if the 2nd letter in your VIN is a M. You are correct that the 1st post was made before the hitch was produced and the 2nd post at a later date as there is now a hitch available.

The Draw-Tite Drawbar for 1-1/4" Hitches # 3594 is recommended if you will be towing with your Elantra. With this you will need a 1-7/8" Ball # 19256 or 2" Ball # 19258 depending on your trailer.

The Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118692 will plug into your vehicle taillight connectors and not require you to splice into the vehicle wiring. You will need to run a wire directly to the battery as the powered convertor does not put extra strain on your vehicle wiring.
