Are these not produced in the described Zinc coating anymore. I see lots of reviews of them being silver.

The Reese Safety Chain Kit with Clevis Hooks - 44" Long - 20,000lbs - Qty 2 Item # RP49151 do have the protective zinc coating to prevent rust and corrosion.
You may have seen a more silvered color chain like the Buyers Products 3/8" x 42" Class 4 Trailer Safety Chain with 1 Clevis Hook - 43 Proof # 337BSC3842, but even this chain has a zinc coating.
