Troubleshooting Reese Goose Box that is Difficult to Get Off of Gooseneck Ball

Dont unhook very often but have trouble getting off ball. any secrets Thanks

Is the release mechanism difficult to move or does it seem to work decently but the ball doesn't want to come out of the coupler? With the Goose Boxes like part # RP85FR it is recommended that you grease the pivot shaft and the hitch ball with every use. I attached a picture that shows where the grease fitting is.
