Is it possible to get a down hitch that will fit the two inch mount that my reese equalizer hitch mounts on without buying the 2 inch mount

If your existing Reese weight distribution shank has the grooved sides that run all the way from the top to the bottom of the shank upright like part # 63911, the replacement ball platform part # PS63076 would work great for you. The platform provides both a 2 inch and a 2-5/16 inch trailer ball. When the 2 inch ball is used, your shank/ball setup will have a 10K capacity or with the 2-5/16 inch ball, the capacity will be 14K. This could be limited by the capacity of the shank, if its less.
